CASH MONEY!

Good news, everybody! I finally received my pin in the mail, so I can get cash from the ATM again!

I’m going to type it here so I’ll NEVER FORGET IT: I can always just come back to this post:

Note to self, who is reading this because you forgot your pin: your pin is the number in there that means nothing to you. Ok?

HOLLYWOOD IS BURNING!

OH GOD!

I can see it from our office. It looks like a volcano. Everyone is talking about the “huge” fire, but it has only burned about 5 acres as of the time of this writing. I hope the Hollywood sign burns down.

I guess Pavement couldn’t burn the hills of Beverly, and went with Hollywood instead.

I don’t know, I don’t know where to begin: we are …

I don’t know, I don’t know where to begin: we are north American.

I just got back from a basketball game. It was crazy!

I got tickets to the Lakers VS. Grizzlies game, but in the Autotrader VIP Suite. It waqs super fun. First off, they had all these gourmet cheeses. which I immediately ate all of them. Then, there was an open bar with this very nice bartender! Me and my associate talked with her a lot, and we drank a lot too. FREE! The game was pretty fun, I sort of kick myself for not taking my camera, because the seats were so high and we felt like we were above the entire game, looking down on everyone. But we could get up and chit-chat and drink and have a laugh. We saw Jack Nicholson giving words of helpful advise to the Lakers. In the end, they lost, but I missed the whole 3rd quarter. A crazy dessert cart came by and I got a “nutty apple” for the bartender because she was so sweet and doled out a lot of booze.

What a fun night. I don’t even like basketball! This night gets 5 out of 5 stars.

Munnyz

This just in: spending money is going out of style.. so spend it while it is still cool to do so! Hopefully, saving money will be the next new awesome thing.

I watched “Motorcycle Diaries” last night, but was disappointed when the bike broke down 45 minutes into the movie. But the entire movie was pretty good, although it sure did paint a rosy picture of Che, didn’t it. What a nice guy!

Sometimes a pony… sometimes a pony… sometimes a pony gets DEPRESSED! (This is my new favorite song by the Silver Jews)

Speaking of Jews, well… I got nothing. I was cleaning my kitchen last night, when I realized I have a collection of not one, not TWO, but THREE drink cozys! I thought about hanging myself right then and there.

I think about all the things I’ve lost through lending out and people never returning. Books, DVDs, games, clothes. I wonder what all this stuff would look like in a room. Would I be surprised at some of the items? “OH MAN! I forgot about this thing!” Or will it just be depressing (like a pony)?

I put my Vespa in my garage last night, because the weather called for rain. You stupid foolish weathermen, it is basically the sunniest out right now. Thanks for the hasslez!

Got my Vespa back!

Yeaaaah!

Just got back from a ride, feels really smooth and good. New set of rollers, so it is running very smooth. New Pirelli tire on the back, and it has a different feel from the Michelins. It is a little softer, but warms up way quicker and very sticky in the turns. I could actually lean in on a turn and comfortable give a little pressure to the bars to make a tight turn. Awesome!

Her she is.. back!

Here is the new Pirelli. I expect since we are coming up on summer, this rear will last me 2500 miles. After that, I’m thinking about switching to a set of Zippys, just to test them all out.

Here you can see what I was talking about in earlier posts about cleaning up the lines. Those ugly little turn signals are going, as well as the front cowl reflectors. A front chrome rack will look really great, and I can also attach more mirrors to it if I feel like modding it out a bit.

Didn’t end up getting “Jupiter’s Travels,” but got the book version of “Long Way Round.”

Time to read / etc. Bye reader.

All My Friends

I completely recommend getting the new LCD Soundsystem. It is excellent! But.. if you are more of a single song buyer, I think you should buy the track “All My Friends.”

It is absolutely amazing. It runs just over 7 minutes long, and after it is done, you’ll want to listen to it again. You can pick it up at the iTunes store for 99 cents.. a bargain! Or just ask me for a copy. I’ll email it to you.

I’m sort of stuck at home right now waiting for my scooter. It was picked up yesterday, and now I just wait for it to get dropped off. I’m getting a new Pirelli tire on back, and I can’t wait to take it for a spin with it’s new tune-up and parts. I want to go pick up Jupiter’s Travels, a book about this guy who rode around the world on a Triumph (or an Indian, I don’t remember) and it was inspiration for the awesome TV doc “Long Way Round.”

UPDATE: Aww crap. I lied, you can only get ‘All My Friends” if you buy the entire album, which you should. But if you just want a taste before the main course, let me know and I’ll email you.

Breaking News!

It is pretty exciting times here in Los Angeles! I think our little town finally made it big!

Yep.. there are rumors that they are filming a movie here!!!!!!!

It is pretty sketchy on what the film is, but it is definitely pretty big. News reports say that some of the stars that have been spotted in Los Angeles for the movie include Judge Reinhold, the guy who played Bull on Night Court, and one of the original Spice Girl tryouts: Passive Spice!!! I’m going to go try and take some pictures – but I’m sure the crowd will be huge. This is going to be so good for Los Angeles’ economy, giving locals the jobs that are so desperately needed ever since the local mill shut down!

More news once I get it!

Get Innocuous!

I forgot to mention that I bought the new LCD Soundsystem last night. Hell yeah!

I hate Cocker Spaniels. They don’t even deserve to have their names capitalized. cocker spaniels.

Last night I downloaded “Tecmo Bowl” for the Wii.. and my batteries died right when it downloaded. So I guess I’ll play it Sunday.

Minerals and ice deposits

Look.. can I be honest with you? I loffffve my Vespa. But I’m jealous of European Vespas because they have a little bit of a sleeker look.

When Italian Vespas are imported to American, they add external turn signals just below the handle bars, and they add reflectors to the front cowl and rear.

Removing these gives your Vespa a much sleeker look! So I plan to remove all the reflectors, and plug them with black painted plugs. Also, there is a kit where you can remove the turn signals and mvoe them into the integrated driving lights on the front of the Vespa. Sleeeeeeek!

This is the Italian black and tan LX150. Nicer lines.. this is how mine will look soon!

Then, I’ll be adding a chrome back and front rack. Oh mama, my Vespa is so excited for the Summer. My Vespa goes away tomorrow to get a new tire and brakes, plus checkup. Then I’ll be ordering my wonder items and get to work! Pictures in a few weeks when I get everything done.

My bamboo bamboo.. oh yeah my bamboo.

Tomorrow night is Tropical Hot Dog Night.

I ordered a total of 7… SEVEN shirts from Threadless.com. They fit so great after a single wash.

I got nothing. Sorry, readers.

I just finished the Guided By Voices four hour final concert. God bless Uncle Bob, and yay for Netflix! Next up on the ol’ music DVD list: X, The Ramones, The Smiths, more GBV, etc.
