Oh man, country singer Jerry Reed died! Perhaps you know him better as Snowman from Smokey and the Bandit.

He is also one of the few country singers I really dig.

Rest in peace, Snowman!

I heard about this yesterday. It sucks. I grew up on that movie. It is somewhat sad that this Friday’s midnight movie in Portland is “Smokey and the Bandit.” Perhaps they’ll give some mention. Also Don laFontaine died. We know him from about 5000 movie trailers with the line “in a world…” Very sad. Also–I love hamburgers.

Jen – I agree with everything you’ve said! Do you have a favorite hamburger place in Oregon? I hope they mention his passing at the midnight movie. Respect for Snowman!

My favorite Oregon hamburger will always be “Wilbur’s Jumbo Deluxe” from any McMenemin’s. With Terminator Stout mustard! And a Terminator Stout beer.

Again, the hamburger I might eat this weekend is from Bridgeport Brewery, conveniently located next door to our apartment building.

Except I won’t eat inside there because of all the doucheholes in our neighborhood but luckily, I can get it to go.

I’m sorry about Jerry Reed. That’s sad.

There’s a new brewery on Powell near Cleveland HS called Hopworks, and they do a pretty great hamburger with bleu cheese. Kind of overpriced at $9, but delicious and prepared with quality ingredients.

His rocking chair. The rocker parts on the front are very short, almost non-existent.

“We’ve got a long way to go and a short time to get there
I’m east bound just watch ol Bandit run……”
