Happened to search Craigslist for “Guided by Voices” and found a lady selling a bunch of 45’s. She agreed to sell me “The Official Ironmen Rally Song” and the Tigerbomb EP seperately from the big lot. I get them tomorrow.

I’ve been waiting a long time for that Tigerbomb EP.

You think THAT is a score, well I found my lost “Betty Crocker 101 cookie recipes” on ebay a couple of months ago. You may laugh now, but you’ll cry when you taste the Monster cookies from page 11. TO DIE FOR!!!!

  • 2. Robert  |  July 1, 2008 at 1:25 pm

I bet I could eat 101 cookies in one sitting.

Monster cookies? Are they chocolate. That sounds like something chocolately and nutty and delicious. I’ve got the best recipe for Bittersweet Decadence Cookies, they are so good, and really, really fast. And they have two different kinds of chocolate. AND NUTS!

Sorry, you can go back to the boy talk now.

Melissa…..they are made from vanilla cake mix, p-nut butter and chopped up heath bars. I will go your blog to share the recipe. I don’t want to girly up my brothers blog. I would love your bittersweet recipe, I am a bittersweet lover!

    OK I’m stupid…..Here it is

    1 package yellow cake mix
    1 cup p-nut butter
1/4 cup butter softened, yes the real thing!
    1/4 cup water
    2 eggs
    1 cup chopped Heath bars

Mix 1/2 cake mix, p-nut butter, butter, water, eggs. Stir remaining mix and candies. (got to love a recipe with butter, butter in it)

Scoop with a 1/4 measuring cup, flatten with a fork and bake for 11 minutes.

Enjoy with milk or a big ass mug of beer!

Wow, thank you that’s simple! And I’m a butter girl. I only have butter in the house. You’ve inspired me to make cookies. I try to make them weekly, but I’ve slacked for the last month and a half. So. Bad.

(Apologies to Robert for using your blog to exchange recipes. Hope your street cred doesn’t tank. Just make those nice boys some cookies.)

Bittersweet decadence cookies from the cookbook Bittersweet

    1/4 c flour
    1/4 tsp baking powder
    1/8 tsp salt
8 oz bittersweet or semisweet choc, chopped
    2 tbsp butter
    2 lg eggs
    1/2 c sugar
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 cups walnuts or pecans
6 oz bittersweet or semisweet choc chopped into chunks (or chocolate chips)

    Preheat oven to 350
Line baking sheet with wax or parchment paper — I have a silpat that I love.

Small bowl — mix flour, baking powder and salt.

Large bowl — Melt the 8 oz choc and butter together. Double boiler style or I do it in the micro, but be careful not to burn the choc.

In another large bowl whisk eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Warm this up in a double boiler. Just warm. Not hot.

Stir egg mixture with warm choc/butter mixture. Then add flour mixture. Then nuts and chocolate chunks.

Drop them on the cookie sheet. Cook them until cookie surface looks dry and set but center is gooey.

Enjoy with…everything. It’s chocolate! Or beer. Like a porter. Or milk if there are children present. But these are better enjoyed by adults, in my opinion.

They aren’t. At all. I just didn’t think two-stroke oil went well with vanilla extract. But what the hell do I know.

    What’s your favorite cookie recipe?

  • 9. Robert  |  July 2, 2008 at 10:20 am

My favorite cookie recipe is ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH COOKIES.

    But no nuts.

  • 10. t  |  July 2, 2008 at 10:36 am

NO NUTS??? How can this happen, when did this happen and what are we going to tell the family?

  • 11. Kiala  |  July 2, 2008 at 12:22 pm

How does a person not like nuts in a cookie?

  • 12. Robert  |  July 2, 2008 at 1:16 pm

I like peanut butter cookies, if that helps?

  • 13. alex  |  July 2, 2008 at 1:21 pm

We should go to this joint out in Brentwood; it’s a yuppie freakshow but they have these chocolate chip cookies that are a revelation.

They’re better than lollipops in my mouth and butter in my arse, as it were.

  • 14. Robert  |  July 2, 2008 at 1:45 pm

Well, great. All this cookie talk on a post about 45’s must have been bad luck because the seller SOLD THE 45’S SHE PROMISED ME!!!!

  • 15. melissalion  |  July 2, 2008 at 2:22 pm

Sure. Blame the cookies. Wouldn’t want to look in the mirror at your no-nut-loving ways.

Sorry I have not commented for awhile. Your blog has been Cyber Patrolled!!! by the school district for Adult Content (like I am so fucking sure). Anyway now I can’t spend tax payers money reading everyones blog. They even blocked Keith and Donna (What???).

Do you like smooth or chunky Peanut butter? And do you ask for Peanut butter cookies hold the chunk?

What about raisins? Can we have raisins in our cookies? I like a little sweet in mine. Got to have the salty-sweet thing going on. You know what I mean. Got to have it both ways.

    Love YA
